Survey Data Shows Ipswitch Web Transfer Module for WS_FTP Server Tops Among Senior IT Professionals

Ipswitch’s Web-based file transfer tool shined during a survey of customers and recent evaluators.

Lexington, MA – July 22, 2008 – Ipswitch File Transfer division, a developer of secure and managed file transfer solutions, today announced the results of a study of over 250 deployed Ipswitch WS_FTP customers representing mid-market organizations worldwide with 250 – 2000 employees or FT (file transfer) users. The recently released new product, the WS_FTP Server Web Transfer Module, received the highest score among several new file transfer product concepts.

The study also explored participants’ experience and perceptions of several file transfer brands. Brand perception of Ipswitch was extremely strong compared to its competitive set of vendors such as Microsoft, Sterling Commerce, Tumbleweed, Axway and GlobalSCAPE.

“The study’s findings show that experienced IT managers think very highly of the functionality and ease-of-use of WS_FTP products from Ipswitch, especially as compared to the offerings from other major players in the market,” said Stephanie Baldock, Market Research Manager of Ipswitch.

The survey found that:

• Sixty percent of those testing the web transfer module rated their likelihood of purchasing it a perfect 10 on a scale from 1 to 10, with an average score of 8.8
• Many respondents noted how versatile a support tool the web transfer module would be for both experienced and new file transfer users
• When queried on topics like reputation, capability, ease-of-use, and affordability, Ipswitch WS_FTP beat out competitors such as Microsoft, Sterling Commerce, Tumbleweed, Axway and GlobalSCAPE by a range of 10 to 58 percentage points.
